The rest of our summer

One of these days I'll have to post some of the pictures Jane and Alice have taken of each other and their surroundings, but for now, I thought I would post the rest of our summer adventures.  July was a lot of fun.

Kevin and Alice taking some pictures.
Smile Alice

I think that is the mad face!

Oh, the sweet face.

Katie with a ponytail and Kevin with his hair longer than normal.  I love it!

Our local pirate ship.  A man built this sailboat and opens up for the locals to come and play on, dress up, and even pretend sword fight.  However the one evening we went there (it's docked at Squid Lips off the Eau Gallie Causeway), it was closed.  But dinner was good.

My mom and dad headed up to New England again this summer to vacation with Kim's family, but we didn't join them this time.  Because they were gone for the 4th of July, we had to host our own party at their house this year.  It was a lot of fun, but we missed Grandma and Papa!

The sky out my parent's front door.  This is right before our pool party was supposed to start.  Not looking so promising.

Our clouds are amazing!

However, it didn't deter these guys from swimming in the pool and waiting for the guests to show up.

What cuties!

After about an hour, maybe less, the storm passed and the sun peaked out.  Jane's first loose tooth, finally fell out.

I looked over to Jane in the pool and noticed she was messing with her tooth, then she got a big smile on her face.  The blood did not even phase her.  She was so excited to lose her first tooth!

The party with the Smiths.  Our friends the Shreeves came too, but I didn't get any pictures of them.  We had a great time though.

Goggles!!!!

A little sparkler action

We kept it simple this year and drove to go see some big fireworks

Jane's baby tooth

The pillow we made for the tooth fairy to leave her gift in

Kate stuffing her face on breadsticks

Summer beach days and more beautiful skies

Between the pool, the ocean, and summer crazy schedules, Jane's hair was just getting rattier and rattier, so I asked her if she wanted a haircut.  She said yes, so during our errand running, we stopped and got her hair cut.

It had gotten long

Trying the black and white feature out on my camera while we waited

Such a fun haircut.  She loves it!

Kevin has camped out in the Indian River on an island they call Scout Island.  He wanted to take us out there too.  One evening we checked it out.  We stayed on the shore.  That water was warm.  And the island was about a 1/4 mile out.  I didn't get it in any of these pictures.  Sorry.

Jane and Alice in the waves

Kevin being a good dad and holding the little shoes

Kate enjoying the breeze

Our three beautiful girls

Kim and her family came back to Florida for another week and this time we were all healthy enough to enjoy their visit.

Beautiful pose by Mikayla

Truly you should let your toddler hold a stick that's on fire.  It's just good parenting.  Luckily no one got burned!

All the kids, Alice 4, Jane 6, Mikayla 7, Ben 5, and Kate 1

Ben took good care of Kate and made sure she didn't get too close to the fireworks

A day at the zoo with free face painting

Ben and Alice (a cheetah and a tiger)

Kate and Gramma feeding the giraffe

Most of the gang.  Nathan went kayaking and Jacob just wasn't sitting on the bench, but we have from left to right, Jane, Alice, Mikayla, Ben, Kate, and Joshua

The next day we headed to the beach.  I had a hard time picking out my favorite pictures.  There were so many good ones.  Enjoy!

Papa and Kate

Alice in the surf

Kim and Kate in a very serious conversation

Papa and Nathan playing frisbee

Good catch Papa!

Ben and Alice were too cute.  They just played and laughed for a long time in the little waves.

Ben is so tan

Nathan boogie boarding.  When did he get so grown up!

Jane and Mikayla

The next series of pictures I couldn't split up because I love the concern Mikayla has for her wave beaten cousin.

Mikayla and Jane getting caught in the breaking wave

Jane?

Uh-oh

Jane made it, but she didn't appreciate all the salt water she took in

Papa smiling at Kate's cuteness

Jacob playing in the waves

Kevin and Nathan

Just a funny picture of catching Josh and Papa mid bite

Jacob and Kate playing.

What a rough life!

Papa and the grandkids, minus Jacob and of course Beth's kids.  We were sad to see Kim and the kids leave, but we only had a few more weeks until school started.

Kate taking Alice for a walk

Kate just chillin' by the couch

Most nights we have a least one child with us in bed by morning.  This morning we wound up with 2 who liked to cuddle with each other!

Alice giving her baby loves in nursery at church

School registration.  Jane is in 1st grade this year and they are the manatees.

Because Kevin's hair had gotten so long, a few coworkers were refering to him as the pointy haired boss from the comic strip Dilbert.  So the night he finally got tired of his curly locks, he decided to embrace the
character and take a few fun pictures of him as the pointy haired boss.  It was fun.  And then he cut his hair.

this picture just makes me laugh.  I love you Kevin!

So my next post will hopefully be about the first days of school and such.  I hope all of you have had a great summer and are excited to start another fun school year.  I was not ready for summer to be over, but alas it comes and the kids enjoy school!

I'm so excited you posted and I love that you can't choose between the pictures either! I never get tired of more pictures of my beautiful nieces and all the fun you have. I love Jane's new haircut and that you re all brave enough to do that. A girl after my own heart. I teared up when you showed the pic of Nathan looking so grown up and of Dad with most of the grandkids. Such priceless memories! We miss you guys and can't wait for your visit!

Hi Jill,

I can't believe how much the girls have grown up! I love Jane's haircut! That is how my hair was cut when I was 6 too! Looks like you guys had a great summer.
