The ward campout

Friday afternoon our church ward had a campout. Before the campout we were trying to get Alice to fall asleep in her crib. Jane decided she would help. Kevin heard Alice stop crying and Jane start to cry. He walked in to find Jane unable to get down from the table. I was substitute teaching that morning.

Alice says, "Thanks, Jane!"

We loaded up the car and headed down to Long Point Park. It is just north of Sebastian Inlet. We've camped there before. Jane fell asleep on the way there. Kevin and I set up the tent and I layed out the bedding. Then Alice had a place to play. She loved it.

Alice in the tent. I think we have about outgrown this tent.

We had a blast camping. Here are some of the other kids and families at the campout.

Morgan loved the sand; the beautiful sunset; Allie on the monkey bars

Jane and Sami on the swings; Mattie waiting her turn; The young men beating Kevin at spoons

Alice spent a lot of time in the stroller. The roaring fire at dusk with the playground in the back.

While Kevin was playing cards, the girls and I were kickin' it in the tent. It was such a nice night, nice breeze and so comfy in the tent.

Once the girls finally fell asleep, Kevin and I chatted with our friends, the Stephensons for a few hours around the campfire. This is how we found the girls when we came to bed. Where do we sleep?

Saturday we had a ward breakfast and then it was time to break camp. Alice once again, just chillin' in the stroller enjoying the weather. It rained a little bit, but didn't ruin any of the fun. Good times.

Paws On at the Zoo!

So my friend Krissy calls me this morning on my cell phone inviting me to go to the zoo with her. The funny thing was is that she tried to call my home phone first, but got some older lady. She thought she was going crazy and I just laughed. I told her we'd love to go to the zoo. I thought I'd give my number a call, so I dialed it on my cell phone and I got the same older lady. I then tried Kevin, but he was unavailable, so I called my mom. My mom answered and was wondering why I was calling from the number I was. On her caller id it showed up with the older lady's name and number. So she dialed that number and got my home phone. Crazy. Well, I called the phone company and they fixed it, but how weird.

Anyway, we had a great time at the new Paws On! We didn't make it past the water area, but that was fine. As you can see by Jane's shirt and diaper, I didn't come prepared. She had a blast though. And so did Alice.

Jane smiling with her bucket of fish. The zoo provided all the toys.

Alice enjoying the shore and a little toy shark.

Alice loves to point at things and say, "Oh." She pointed out a nest of cranes in the tree. How amazing, both that she spotted them and the size of the nest. If you click on the picture you might be able to see babies in the nest. The mom is flying in the picture.

Sadly we had to leave in a hurry, but we have season's passes, so we'll be back. Thanks again Krissy for the invitation to the zoo.

Pretty as a Princess...

Sunday before chuch I was doing my hair and then I did Alice's hair. Well, Jane wanted her hair done too. As I was doing it she said she looked like a princess. We even put a little ribbon around her neck for a choker like Cinderella. It looked so pretty. She kept it in for a good 20 minutes and then on our way out the door she declared she wanted it out and didn't want to be a princess anymore. Luckily I took pictures! Now when she gets older I have proof that I tried.

So sweet!

Pink is a wonderful color.
