Thanksgiving!

There's nothing like Thanksgiving spent with good friends and family!

My dad is taking his after Dinner nap. Always a must. Notice how no pillow goes unwanted.

While he was out there, the kids were in his room watching, what else, Sponge Bob. I swear that show runs all day every day on this one channel. Hey, they were happy. If you notice, even though Jane stands up in the second picture, Jacob doesn't even move. Now that's true tv watching. Jane just loves hanging out with her cousins. Mikayla's chillin' on the floor.

Here's the turkey I made. I got the idea out of a parenting magazine. Each person wrote on a feather what they were thankful for and then poked it into the styrofoam ball wrapped in yarn turkey. It was neat to read them. My favorite was Jacob's, however. "I am thankful for pancakes." Truly it's gratitude for the simple things in life that give us a life full of joy.

Yesterday we trimmed the tree. The girls were so excited. We turned the lights on and Alice was mesmerized.

Daddy helping Jane put on ornaments. She was very happy that she was able to help. Kevin kept asking where she wanted to put the ornament and most of the time she would say, "Up high." The tree turned out great. It helps when it is pre-lit!

A lot of stuff!

Sorry, this post will be a little long. For FHE last night we talked about music and read the scripture from D&C 136:28, which talks about praising the Lord in singing, music and dancing. We drew pictures of musical instruments and then we had a little dance party. Regrettably we don't have Kevin's dance stylings, but we did get a little glimpse of mine and of course Jane's rockin' moves. And yes, we broke out the Christmas music to boogy to.

Group photo!

Jane was such a big helper for Daddy while Mommy and Alice were at a baby shower. Kevin says she helped put away the dishes and even helped wash them. What a great daughter!

This picture is for Auntie Beth. Thanks for the pj's! Beth gives pj's and a book to each of her nieces and nephews for Christmas. Jane received both those pj's (since Alice hasn't had a Christmas yet), but the spacing was perfect for them to wear them together.

On November 11, the girls and I went with my dad up to St. Augustine to visit my grandfather and Inez. We had a wonderful visit. They are both doing well and enjoying all their card and bingo playing. And of course dancing, when they can make it.

Clean up, clean up...

Jane was in her room supposed to be going to sleep for her nap today. She normally plays with her toys for a while before she falls asleep. She has a little kid desk in her room with a humidifier sitting on top of it. I've caught her role playing rescue scenes with Marge, Homer, and Lisa on the humidifier/mountain. It's usually kind of a noisy thing. So today I wasn't worried about all the clanking I heard or the talking, until I heard a desperate, "Mommy!" I went into her room to see what she needed and what I found was the humidifier halfway off the desk and leaking all of its water onto the carpet. What my mom noticed was that Jane had a line of wet tissues next to the puddle. She had been trying to clean up the water with tissues. I couldn't be mad once I saw that. She was too sweet and knew she needed to soak up the water. I must admit that I have been staring at that humidifier thinking I needed to empty the water out of it, but never acted on that thought. The Spirit does speak to us, I'm just a little too slow all too often. I just thought I would share our fun little story. Needless to say, Jane did not wind up taking a nap today. She did get to bed a whole lot earlier though. Little blessings everywhere. What a day!!!

Where's the phone booth?

First, a little practice for Halloween night... (sorry, you'll have to turn your head sideways)

The real thing on Halloween at the Trunk or Treat...

Happy Halloween!

We had such a fun time at our ward trunk or treat. Jane would not wear her cape, but at least her shirt had a little superman symbol on it. Kevin had the idea for the super hero get up and I found the cape pattern online at http://pukingpastilles.com/?p=57 . They were not too bad. We won best of show for costumes for the night with all our red and blue. Too fun. We hope you all had a great and safe Halloween also. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving!!!

Kevin and Jane starting their rounds. Alice was asleep in the car for the first half of the evening. Kevin's trying to convince Jane to put on her cape.

Alice woke up finally. We decorated the trunk with callouts and superhero figures. Thanks again Janet for the cute little Trick or Treat ribbon on Alice's head.

Jane spent the evening wherever Sami was. This is Allie, Jane, Sami, and Krissy.

Jane is sampling the candy and who you don't see is Sami off to the side. It was the only way to get Jane in the picture. (Beth, you might recognize the red skirt!)

So after we finished up at Church we headed to the Palm Bay/Melbourne football game. It was 0/0 when we got there, but wound up 20 to 0 Palm Bay at the end. Yes, we went as superheroes. I must admit, I was quite embarrassed. It went well though and we brightened up the stands. Oh, and Jane finally agreed to put on her cape!!!!!!

Jane wanted to climb the bleachers, but Kevin told her she could only if she would wear her cape. She conceeded. Such a smart Daddy!!

Well, the Super Terrys are retired for this season. We'll see what next year will bring.
