Jane's Ballet Recital

Here it is.  The video is long, but I couldn't miss any of it.  Jane is priceless.  I asked Jane after Gymnastics was over what she wanted to do next.  As you have seen in previous posts, she chose dance.  I went with the same place Krissy sends Allie and Sami.  Jane and Sami were in a class together.  The age range was 3 to 5 year olds and Jane was the youngest.  Watching the recital, it's obvious.  However, after sitting through practices, she did an awesome job in the performance.  For instance: the first time she tried on the dress (her costume) she broke down in tears, absolutely histerically crying.  I have no idea why, but when we put the dress on a month later she said, she didn't want to wear it before, but now she will.  I was glad.  Anyway, here she is in all her cuteness and Janeness!

Jane is the smallest little girl, the one with her head up in the beginning.  The little boy is the teacher's son.  He's the next youngest.  Sami is the other little blonde that Jane holds hands with at one point.  ENJOY!!!

After her performance was over, Jane very excitedly walked down the steps of the stage and said for everyone to hear, "My cousin Mikayla is here to watch me.  Daddy, I did it!!!!"

Pictures from Kevin's birthday Party

I threw a small little party for Kevin for his 34th birthday.  We had a lot of fun.  I wanted to invite more friends, but I invited two families, plus a third who couldn't come, and then I stopped and said, that's good enough!  Alice helped me lick the cake batter before the guests arrived.

All the kids.  Little Drew is the only boy.  I was amazed that I got all of the kids looking at me and mostly smiling.  From the bottom around clockwise is Jane, Alice, Morgan, Sami, Drew, Eryn, and Allie

Morgan and Eryn belong to Russ and Tamara and the other 3 (besides my 2) belong to Kevin and Krissy.  Jane loved having all her friends over.

Disappearing act...

We took Alice's crib down about a month ago because she sleeps on the floor now next to her toddler bed.  (Jane did the same thing for the longest time).  Anyway, she still cries herself to sleep and instead of a crib to play in, she now has a whole room full of toys.  And like tonight, she normally winds up asleep right in front of the door.

Well, for her nap today she fell asleep pretty quickly.  Not too much crying, or playing.  And when I looked under the door to see where she was, I didn't see her.  Sweet, she must have layed down on her blanket.  When I opened the door she wasn't there.  She wasn't on the bed, floor, closet, in fact, I didn't see her at all.  For a moment I thought, did she get out of her room?  But then I came back to reality and realized she's probably in the little plaything she calls "the backyard".

She had taken three toys to bed with her, a figurine of Homer Simpson, Lisa Simpson, and the Alaska coaster.  I found Homer and Lisa in the little round holes.  Alice cracks me up!  I'm just grateful she took a nice 2 hour nap!

I love you...

I just wanted to write this little story down before I forgot to ever record it anywhere.  Jane and Alice love JibJab, so for the past 20 minutes they have been watching different dances and such.  I told them one more and then they needed to go play.  They watched their one more and Jane hops down from the computer and runs off, excitedly saying, "Alice let's go play house!" 
I go to sit down at the computer to check my email and in the back room I hear the girls playing.  I then hear Jane say, "I love you, I love you, I love you.  Alice, Daddy's calling."  Which she then picks up her pretend cell phone and answers it.

I thought that was adorable because my ringtone when Kevin is calling is him saying, "I love you," over and over again.  Anyway, it's fun to see what children take notice of and what they choose to remember.  However, sometimes it's not so cute and you realize, ooh, maybe I should change my words or behavior just a bit.  Well, hoped you enjoyed the story.  Have a wonderful day!
