Christmas, Christmas time is here...

Kate and I are doing great and I figured I'd post before Christmas was over.

Saturday night the 4th, my parents and cousins and the girls and I went to a Doggie Christmas up at Cocoa Village.  It was a chilly evening, but enjoyable.  I walked a lot that night, which I think helped the baby to hurry on her way.  The girls love Lisa's dog Lily.

My mom found this old outfit of mine while going through her drawers.  So I finally put it on Alice for church.  She looked cute, but the shirt came off before Nursery started.

So Sunday the 5th I realized that I was having contractions periodically and that other signs were pointing to the baby coming soon.  I decided to pack my bag.  And then I took the final pregnancy picture before losing the big belly.  I only gained 25 lbs this pregnancy.  I weighed the same at the hospital for this baby, as I did for Alice.  Chasing children around keeps the weight off.

Kevin did a great job of posting the birth of Kate.  Thank you!  And here we are leaving the hospital.  I spent the last day ready to leave the hospital, but we couldn't actually leave until a test result came back for Kate, so it wasn't until around 6:30 pm that we left.  It was a long day, but all the staff at the hospital were super nice and it was a great experience.

Right around Thanksgiving we did a little shopping at Old Navy and I found some cheap (matching) pj's for the girls.  I couldn't resist picking up a third one in a 3-6mth size just in case the baby was a girl.  Well, guess what, I lucked out and here are the pictures of the girls in matching pj's.  Too cute!

We tried to get one more picture, but Alice was done.  If you look closely you can see the huge scowl on Alice's face.  It's washed out, but you can still see her pouty lip.

We are truly blessed this Christmas time with a new little baby in our family.  We are blessed with so many other things too, especially great family and friends.  I know Christ was born to be the Savior of the world and provide the way for us to repent and return to our Father in Heaven.  I love this time of year.  Jane had a hard time going to bed tonight because she is so excited for Christmas.  What better gift can we have than peace in our hearts knowing that we are children of God and that he knows us and loves us.  And there is always hope and that life is full of joy, thanks to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Christmas is coming and so is the baby!

We are all very excited for Christmas.  Jane and Alice sing every chance they get.  It makes me smile.  Here is a video I took this morning of them singing together.  Alice is yelling in the beginning because she was singing first and now wants to outsing Jane.  She eventually concedes to let her sing with her.  Yay!

And still no news on the baby front.  We'll post as soon as we have updates.  We hope the holiday season is already Merry and Bright and just getting better.

Here's a fun little video of us singing to my dad for his birthday.  I'll post pictures later.  I really wanted to post a video of Jane's class singing the months of the year song, but alas it will not upload onto Youtube.  So this is what you get for now.  And my dad thought Kevin was still trying to take a picture, so he blows out the candles a couple of times.  My mom had posed for a shot of blowing out her candles just prior.  And the little girl in the video is Sophia, Sean and Lisa's (my cousin) little girl.  The super heroes on the cake were Jane's idea.  She said that Papa needed super heroes on his cake and Gramma needed a princess and castle.  The castle will have to wait until next year.

I wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving.  We wish we could spend it with you, but we are grateful for your love and friendship.  Gratitude is such an amazing mood lifter.  Take a moment to think of all the little things to be grateful for.  We created a little Thank You board for Family Home Evening on Monday night to list people we are thankful for.  Last night, Jane mentioned she was thankful that Gramma let her borrow the movie Aristocats.  It's the simple things in life.  Enjoy your feasts!

Halloween and snorkeling

The following pictures were taken October 28th, 29th, and 30th.  Lots of fun times and lots of candy!

Thursday, Alice and I went to Jane's Halloween party at school.  Alice got to play with some of the toys, which she was very excited about.

Jane wanted to be a rabbit after our Boo at the Zoo trip, but I convinced her to wear the tu-tu one more time (since I had put some effort into it) and so she wore it to her school party.  So sweet.

The Little Rainbows class with Mrs. Rutherford and Mrs. Weatherspoon (used to be Jane's nursery leader at church!)  She adores her teachers.

Friday morning we headed to the Melbourne Airport to pick up Daddy.  He had been in Alabama all week and we missed him dearly.  I love this picture of Alice.  Definitely her nice face!!!  (She has a mean face too, which she shares when she feels like being mean).

We picked up Daddy, went home for a few minutes and then headed to Grandma's.  My cousin Lisa, her husband Sean, and little girl Sophia have just moved over here from Tampa and we are loving having them here.  They lived with my parents until yesterday when they moved into an apartment about 20 minutes away.  We are all very excited (I know they are a little stressed, but excited) for the future and spending time together. 

While we were at Grandma's Kevin and Jane braved the pool.  Kevin actually got Jane to snorkel and she was doing a fantastic job.  Her first time ever and she looked like a pro.  Just needs to learn to blow the water out of the snorkel if it goes under.  I think she swallowed a lot of water that day!

Then Saturday was the Trunk-or-Treat at church.  We always look forward to that.  Kevin spent all morning on my costume.  And I must say, he did a spectacular job and everyone loved it.  I just couldn't sit down in it too easily, so it didn't last the whole evening.

I couldn't find my eyeliner pencil, so I had to use mascara for their noses and whiskers.  I must say, it worked great and didn't smudge a bit.  And then it came off with a wet wipe.  Perfect!

The picture below cracks me up.  It looks like 3 old ladies just chatting about stuff.  I love it!

The trick-or-treating begins.  Notice the smiles on their faces.  Kevin is in the apron in the right of the picture.  He was a baker for Halloween.

And I was an oven, with a bun (ha, ha, bun in the oven) 

Kevin even attached 2 flashlights inside for oven lights.  Once again, he did a great job!  I spray painted the box, that's it.

Alice got a little warm in her costume and took off her hat, then toward the end of the evening she told me she didn't want to be a cat anymore and wanted to be a princess.  So this is how she ended up (a Ron Jon's t-shirt under a Christmas dress)

And Jane got tired of the ears, so she just sported the cute tail

I laugh every time I see this picture.  We bought a fun Little People's sing a long Halloween cd and made all the trick or treaters either dance or sing for their candy.  Kevin and Jane are doing their own rendition of "If you're scary and you know it scream and shout, AAAAhhhhhh!!!"

Alice fell asleep on the way home, but Jane had work to do.  Here she is finishing up her "important work" before she went to bed.  I think she was coloring.  I just liked the quiet, peaceful picture.

Sean and Lisa got some pictures of the whole family, so I'll post one of those at some point.  We had a fun Halloween and are looking forward to all the family stuff for Thanksgiving and Christmas (and the new baby!!!!  Only 4 1/2 weeks left)
