Beauty and the Beast

So I get teary eyed whenever I think about the future and how the girls will eventually grow up and leave home. Anyway, about a month or so ago, Kevin and Jane were dancing in the living room like Beauty and the Beast. Jane loves the movie and it was during the Beauty and the Beast song. She even puts her arm out and twirls like Belle. It is adorable. Well, we have the Disney cd's and that song happened to be on last night, so Kevin and I were dancing in the kitchen. When we were done, Jane was right there asking Daddy to dance with her. Everytime I see them dance to it, I think how precious it will be at her wedding when they dance again to that song and we pull out some of the old video and pictures. That is why I get teary eyed. I know, I know, I'm pathetic, she's only 2! Enjoy!

Tropical Storm Fay Day 3 (the end, hopefully)

Here are the previous pictures the next day. As you can see the water receeded pretty quickly, for the most part. It was nice out, so we all went for a jog and bike ride.

Tropical Storm Fay Day 2

Well, we were home bound the second day of the storm. Kevin did leave in the morning to go down and help a family in our ward put a tarp on their roof after a tornado came through and hit it. They also helped their neighbors too. He barely made it home though because of the flooded roadways. Once he came home, we didn't leave again. He went out on his bike however and got some cool pictures. Jane, Alice, and I stayed dry at home.

A golf ball submerged on our back patio. The water still had a couple inches to go before it would come in the house. Good thing Kevin dug some trenches to help the water flow.

This is a ball of fire ants. When they get flooded out of their homes, they form a huge floating ball. Just don't step in one or you'll be sorry you did.

This is Riviera, right around the corner from our house. The truck is backing up to help push the stalled car to higher ground.

Kevin showing just how high the water came on him and his bike. He was a tired man after peddaling through that much water. He wasn't just taking pictures. He was actually out checking on members of the ward who didn't have working phone numbers.

A man taking advantage of the high waters got out and took his jet ski for a spin. This canal normally doesn't have any water in it.

Tropical Storm Fay Day 1

Kevin and Jane decided to brave the storm and play in the puddles. I was too chicken to do the same. They had a blast though, as you can see. The storm looks like it will be here for a while. It's just moving very slowly and they predict it will become a hurricane once it moves off shore tomorrow. We're not too worried about the winds, it's the flooding that will be bad. Gotta love Florida!

A little video for you

We went for a Sunday outing as a family over to a pier on the Indian River. It is called Castaways point. It's where Kevin proposed to me. Jane had a blast running around. There were really pretty skies and a nice breeze. We saw manatee, alligators, Kevin caught a crab, and we saw a fisherman catch a fish. It was an enjoyable evening.

Birthday Pictures!

Here are the pictures from Grandma's camera. Also, Jane had her 2 year appointment and Alice her 2 month appt. with the doctor. They both did great. Jane was 34 3/4 inches tall and weighed 28 lbs 8 oz. Alice was 12 lbs 15 oz and was 23 inches long. They're growing girls.

Happy Birthday Jane!

The big TWO. She is getting so big. It's crazy. We had a busy, but very enjoyable day today. We have two other couples we go to the temple with each month. One couple watches all the kids, while the other couples go to the temple. It works out great with nursing babies. Well today was our day to watch the kids. Since neither of the other couples have a nursing baby right now, we had them at our house. We had a great time. The kids had fun and Jane loved having company.

They all left around 1pm and then Jane took a nap and we headed off to Grandma's once she woke up. Kevin made an amazing birthday cake for Jane. We saw the idea in a book, but I found a good picture on the internet and we embellished from there. Jane and Mikayla loved it. It was a very fun evening. More pictures later, we have to get them off Grandma's camera.

Zoo Mania!

My mom, Jacob, Joshua, Mikayla, my friend Janet and her daughter Violet, Jane, Alice, and I all went to the zoo this morning. We missed you, Beth and Morgan, but still had some good times.

Jane and Mikayla had dowsed themselves in the little shower before seeing the birds. It was hot, but not for that much sweating. Notice how all the blondes just lose their hair in the sunshine.

First Discovery of Puddles!

There was a huge rainstorm yesterday (well, almost everyday, but anyway), after yesterdays storm we decided to go for a walk. Jane then discovered the joys of puddles and oh did she and Daddy have fun. I stayed out of the water and took pictures. Alice got in on the action a little too, but stayed dry!

Needless to say she was soaked, but it was a great ending to a beautiful Sabbath day.
