We had a great Easter weekend. Saturday morning Kevin and I ran a 5k in Downtown Melbourne. Yep, that's right, I finally ran one. In this race the women run separately from the men, so we figured Kevin would watch the girls while I ran and then I would watch them while he ran. I just had to finish in 45 minutes (that's when his race started). I did no training, except an occasional walk (chase Jane on her bike) around the neighborhood. I wasn't too worried about it though. I knew I would not run the whole thing. I surprised myself and actually ran the first mile and a quarter without stopping to walk. Then I walked a little, ran some more, and then walked the last mile, but I managed to run across the finish line. Kevin was so sweet. He and the girls cheered me on every 1/4 mile of the way. The course loops around twice, so he ran to different locations to catch me run by. We got there a little late. I was the last one to cross the start line, but then I felt good because I passed all the walkers. It was a good experience. Who knows when I'll do it again!
Giving a high 5 to the girls as I ran by around mile 2
The girls joined me for my "sprint" to the finish line (I loved it)
Alice wimped out, but Jane finished strong with me at 44:26 (or whatever the finish time says). Oh, I forgot to mention, that the pressure was off for me running it under 45 minutes because my mom came also to cheer us on. She sacrificed her sleep to come, so thank you Mom! But despite the no pressure, I still made it in in under 45, yay!
After the race we headed home for a little Easter Egg hunt in the backyard. Alice and Jane with their Easter baskets ready for the hunt.
4 Young Women from our ward raked our yard last week to earn money for camp, but the piles are still sitting in the yard. They made great hiding places for eggs.

"Time to head inside and eat my candy!"
I have the cutest picture of Mom and Alice looking at Alice's basket, but it wouldn't load. I'll post it somewhere. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We had General Conference too and loved it. It is time to "be" better and I know the Lord will help me!

Super cute pics! Way to go with the race. Maybe one day I'll do one of those as well...maybe:) I hope we can find a backyard like yours. So fun. That is weird about the pictures not letting you do more. I upload tons and have never been cut off. We should chat later and I'll see if I can figure out the issue.
