October 1st, the Halloween decorations came down from the attic. We all had fun decorating the house. (No pictures of that).
Alice originally was going to wear my old cat costume made for my sisters and I by my mom. She sure makes a cute cat.
One of Jane's friends (Lily) had a birthday at the zoo. The Brevard Zoo does a Boo at the Zoo during the month of October. After the zoo closes, they basically have a Halloween party for anyone who wants to come.

Jane is Tinker Bell. I'm very grateful that she accepts that costume as looking like Tinker Bell. The hair is what clenches the deal!
On Daddy's shoulders (The tu-tu's really aren't very hard to make)
Throughout the zoo they have people stationed with candy to give away
This is all Alice would wear of her cat costume and even that was done under resistance
Our precious Tinker Bell
We had a ton of fun and at the end of the post you can watch a fun video of the dance party
I had a friend who had a double baby shower with her and her sister, so I decided to try a little something new. I've been making the soft blocks for a couple of years now. I added the ribbon tabs just in the last few months. Love them. But I saw on a website the rings and I thought they looked cute, so I tried them. Not so exciting or easy to stuff, but I thought they turned out pretty good for the first try. (Oh, and Beth if the material looks familiar, it's the same stuff I used on Morgan's blanket).
Another fun October treat is the Marching Band festival. We went to see Melbourne High School perform because we know 2 of the trumpet players, but we stayed till the end to see my Alma Mater (Satellite High) play their patriotic show. They did a great job and the girls each got a flag. It was fun to see the stands full of flags.
On Monday, Jane's class went to the pumpkin patch and Alice and I tagged along.

And here are some fun new videos.
Jane and Alice love to sing in the car. Alice's favorite right now is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. I shot this while driving Jane to school the other morning. Don't worry, I didn't take my eyes off the road!

This video cracks me up. It's almost like Alice is thinking, ok, so let me see what dance moves I can learn. Ooh, look at his, yeah, I can do that. Kick. Ok, ok, let's see what else. Wow, wait, keep dancing. Those are some good moves. And as she walks away she is trying to do the same thing the little girl was doing. It just cracks me up. The little girl in pink dancing with Dorothy is Lily and it was her party. Lily's sister Ella is the cute ladybug. We had a great time (late night, but enjoyable).
